Floppy Disk Controller

On Atari machines, the WD 1772 FloppyDrive controller is coupled with DMA system, so that all possibilities of this Western Digital controller are not completeliy available. This limitation prevents the use of specific floppy disc formats (by Apple or Comodore) in Atari drives. The WD 1772 is software compatible with the well known 179x/279x series.
