GEMDOS

GEMDOS is the Disk Operating System for GEM. GEMDOS was designed to be faster than CP/M-68k, which was an early option by the time Atari was looking for an underlying operating system for the GEM. Looking for speed, GEMDOS was inspired by MS-DOS (interwiki) which had proved its ability to handle floppy disk quite fast.
