BIOS is the lowest API present in the
TOS operating system. Its main use in
TOS is to deal with character devices, but it has some calls to deal with block devices, system clock, exception vectors among others.
The console input/output system is based on a
VT52Emulator, which interprets characters sent and received through the keyboard, and displayed on the screen.
